Extension of the Philharmonie

A mixed-use space opening into the Place de l’Europe

The Administration of Public Works is leading the planning for an extension of the Philharmonie’s foyer and reception area.

The final preliminary design, developed together with a team of architects comprising Christian de Portzamparc and Christian Bauer & Associés, is under development. The aim is to strengthen the openness to the outside, and to create a focal point on the Place de l’Europe by having a mixed-use space for cultural projects. An extension of the kitchen and the dining space is also envisaged, since the existing facilities no longer meet the day-to-day needs of the Philharmonie (restaurant, foyer bars, musicians’ canteen, events catering).
